Bye, Rupert Murdoch!

This week, Rupert Murdoch announced that he is retiring from the Fox and News Corporation board. And his son, Lachlan, will be taking his place as chairman.

Don’t expect things to change.

As I wrote 20 years ago in “Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them, A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right,” Fox News has, since its inception, been a pernicious player in the destruction of our nation’s civil discourse.

Since paying out $787 million to Dominion Voting Systems, Fox has doubled down and continues spreading lies (with an occasional disclaimer for legal purposes) about… well, pretty much everything.

The right has replaced facts with alternative facts. And that has been incredibly damaging for democracy. And in this coming election, it is no exaggeration to say our very democracy is at stake.

Please help Midwest Values PAC in the fight we face over the next 13 and a half months.
