We all do better when we all do better

The words above are those of the late Senator Paul Wellstone, Al’s friend and political hero. Throughout Al’s time running for and serving in public office, Paul’s life, causes, and words have served as the bedrock for his vision of what it means to be a progressive Democrat.

Our Mission & Mandate

For over 15 years, Midwest Values PAC has supported progressive Democrats — from legislatures to Congress — who share our values. These are our values: We believe in economic and social justice, in the importance of education and the potential of clean energy, in accountability for the powerful and opportunity for everyone. We believe that elections offer a clear choice between two competing sets of values. And we believe that our values are worth fighting for.

From the Desk of

Well, it’s the start of a new year! That can mean a lot of things to different people. Time to exercise more regularly, for example. Or to eat healthier foods. And recycle more. Or to give more of your time and attention to the people around you. Or to organize your closet.
The holidays are a time for family. So, please read this fundraising letter to your family. Hi, family member! In case you haven’t had the pleasure of reading these -- here’s my schtick: These are fundraising emails disguised as parodies of fundraising emails. So much for the disguise!
This past Election Day, we successfully dodged a bullet that was intended for the groin of our very democracy. I’m sorry. The heart.
I know you’re sick of these emails enlisting you in our fight against The Fox News Channel’s War on Chanukah. Well, actually, this email is about something even more important. The Senate runoff in Georgia!
Healing nurturer Stuart Smalley once said, “That attitude of gratitude, it ain’t just a platitude!” So, this Thanksgiving, allow me to express my gratitude to all of you who have supported our work at Midwest Values PAC.

Contribute to Our Cause!

If you’re a political donor — and, of course, you are — you want to know your contributions are going to a place where they can make a difference. Well, Midwest Values PAC is contributing all over the damn place! We’re supporting progressive Democrats from the state legislature to Congress — and supporting a host of other good, non-political things, too.

Plans on plans on plans on plans

01.

Engage with Voters

Midwest Values PAC is heavily involved in the Democratic ground game in Minnesota and key battlegrounds across the country.

02.

Grow Grassroots

We have given over $3,238,500 to Democratic candidates and organizations on the strength of our far-reaching grassroots network of donors.

03.

Support Important Races

It’s our job to figure out where to direct resources. We invest heavily in races that will impact peoples’ everyday lives. Senate races. Governors’ races. Secretary of state races. Races that build the Democratic bench. You name it.

04.

Elect Our Values

We help elect candidates who share our values — like good jobs that pay fair wages and affordable health care for all — and who will get things done when they’re in office.

The Issues at Hand

Midwest Values PAC supports progressive Democrats who share our values and understand what issues to fight for.

Jobs & Families

We believe in creating good jobs that pay fair wages, and in the existence strong economic safety net will help keep families afloat during tough economic times.

Health care

We believe that health care is a right and not a privilege, that patients should have the power in our health care system, and that no American should go bankrupt because they get sick or die because they can’t afford care.

Education

We believe that education is one of the smartest investments we can make in an increasingly competitive global economy. We believe in funding early childhood education and that every neighborhood should have a strong public school.

Energy

We believe that our dependence on foreign oil is an economic and national security risk, and that clean American energy represents an enormous opportunity.

Financial Reform

We believe in accountability for Wall Street, transparency in our financial markets, and basic protections for American consumers.

Equality

We believe that, in America, who you are shouldn’t determine what you can do – in school, at work, or in our society.
