I asked you all two simple but important questions: What Democrats should be doing differently and how should we fight back?

Thanks for your responses. I read them and no, I wasn’t multitasking while watching Netflix. So without further ado, here’s what came through:

What Democrats Should Do Differently

Stronger, Clearer Messaging: Democrats everywhere need to stop mumbling and start shouting from the rooftops — especially to counter the Fox News gang, who never miss a chance to spin things to please Dear Leader.

Be Aggressive! B! E! Aggressive!: Take risks, be bold, maybe borrow some playbook pages from the Republicans (without the crazy Twitter rants).

Focus on Jobs and the Economy: Talk about real, actionable plans that create jobs, especially for young people and in rural areas.

New Leadership and Younger Candidates: We need fresh faces and younger leaders — as a man of a certain age, I will try not to take this one too personally.

New Media Presence: Democrats need to be everywhere — on social media, podcasts, late-night shows, maybe even a dumb TikTok challenge if that’s what it takes.

Engage Broader Audiences: Don’t just preach to the choir. Go talk to people who’ve checked out or switched teams. Because the best way to win hearts is through actual conversation, not just viral memes.

How Should We Fight Back?

Use All Available Legal Tools: Many want Democrats to use all the legal tools available — yes, impeachment too — to hold the other side accountable. It’s time to play hardball.

Protests and Demonstrations: Keep showing up — loud, proud, and maybe with a catchy chant or two. Bonus points for clever signs that make people laugh and think at the same time.

Delay Bad Policies: Use every procedural tool to slow down bad policies and nominations. Think of it like traffic on the highway — sometimes you just gotta put up some cones.

Counter Misinformation: Be ready to call out bullshit and obvious lies in real time on social media and in the media. Because lies spread fast, but the truth — especially when served with a side of satire — can be even faster.

Mobilize and Unite: Get everyone involved — from the neighbor who’s obsessed with politics to your cousin who only watches cooking shows but cares about the economy.

More and Better Targeted Messaging: Run campaigns focused on issues that hit home, like calling tariffs the “Trump Tax.”

Thanks for sticking with me through this — I know emails like this aren’t exactly beach reading.

Let’s keep our heads up, our voices loud, and maybe invest in some good coffee (before the tariffs make it too expensive) because this fight isn’t going anywhere.
