Inappropriate to boo Trump at NBA Finals

Many of you watched an incredible basketball game last night as the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs faced off in game 3 of the NBA Finals. And many of you saw during the game that President Trump was loudly booed by the crowd at Madison Square Garden. That’s just inappropriate.

The President only got to hear the boos from people inside the arena. What about the boos of millions of Americans outside the arena?

Wait for it, here’s your chance to make your disgust heard too by donating to Midwest Values PAC.

President Trump won’t actually hear your boo right now (and then fall asleep as he did at the game — what some are calling “the most expensive taxpayer-funded nap in history”). Even better, Trump will hear your boo on election day as your donation and our work together helps progressives across the country win and defeat MAGA candidates.

There are plenty of things to boo:

  • A war in Iran started without a plan or clear goal that is driving energy prices sky high and putting American service members at risk.
  • Trump’s $1B request for a White House ballroom after assuring everyone it would not be funded by taxpayers.
  • The Trump administration gutting public health protections causing emergencies from measles outbreaks to screwworm.
  • Widespread corruption in Trump’s administration and his use of the federal government to enrich himself and his family — by billions.

The list goes on and on (and on and on…). Throw in what you can today to make sure Trump hears it.

Thanks,

Al

P.S. A donation of any amount will help us win races, $5, $10 or $4,000 (the lowest cost ticket to the game last night — we thought we’d try).

P.P.S. True to form, when Trump gets involved things immediately go south — the Knicks lost their first basketball game since April 23rd, 46 days ago. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

Somehow, it’s been 20 years since I started Midwest Values PAC to help Democrats win elections — from progressive organizations to state legislatures to Congress to the White House — who share the values I grew up with in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

Since 2006, Midwest Values PAC has invested more than $4 million in 341 candidates and organizations — and counting.

Of course, none of this happens without you (or supporters like you) who care enough to pitch in.

As we mark our 20th anniversary, the work is more urgent than ever. This year, we have a big job: flip the House, take the Senate, and win up and down the ballot at the state and local level.

To mark our 20th year, we’ve set an ambitious goal: 26,000 contributions by Election Day 2026.

Thanks for being part of this fight, and for sticking with us for 20 years (or for just joining — welcome!).

Al

P.S. Over the years, okay, decades, we’ve helped Democrats win tough races all across the country by investing early, intelligently, and strategically. That’s how you flip seats. That’s how you protect democracy. And that’s how you stop the worst impulses of a president who never should have been president in the first place.
