A message from a proud member of the Writers Guild of America

Since Ronald Reagan fired the air traffic controllers, labor’s power had been on the decline and along with it, we have seen the stagnation of working-class and middle-income Americans. In this century, life expectancy has declined, and economic inequality has soared.

But things are turning around!

Labor is winning victories again. With the United Auto Workers having reached tentative agreements with Ford, GM, and Stellantis (Chrysler, Jeep, and Ram), the Writers Guild winning concessions from the producers and studios, and Kaiser Permanente settling with 75,000 medical technicians, it appears that workers are finally beginning to make significant gains. Not to mention labor unions are enjoying their highest approval ratings in generations.

Together we can keep this momentum going.

At Midwest Values PAC, we believe what Paul Wellstone said: “We all do better when we all do better.” That’s why MVP has always supported candidates who fight for prosperity for the most rather than those who serve the few at the top.

This cycle, we’ve already given to candidates and organizations that understand the role labor unions play in strengthening the middle class. With your help, I will continue to support their efforts.
