TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE

We all have that one weird, MAGA relative or acquaintance we see a couple of times a year. No matter what new, dangerous thing Donald Trump says or does, we’ll never convince your Uncle Jim of how unfit Trump is. 

But ahead of upcoming get-togethers, you CAN have a punchy comeback in your back pocket to get out of any conversation fast! (How about: “Look, I get it — you’re all in for the 34-time convict who for some reason keeps talking about ‘the late, great’ Hannibal Lecter at his rallies.”)

While we might not be able to persuade your Uncle Jim, there are totally reasonable, non-MAGA voters out there who we can reach before Election Day.

We can reach them by talking to them about Trump and the extreme-right’s Project 2025, which would:

  • Threaten women’s reproductive freedoms, including access to the abortion pill, birth control, and IVF
  • Nullify climate change protections, which could result in billions of tons of extra carbon pollution
  • Gut veterans’ health care services and disability benefits
  • Dismantle the Department of Education and threaten programs supporting low-income kids, LGBTQ+ students, and disabled students
  • Give Trump unprecedented power, including more control over Justice Department criminal investigations

Somehow, it’s been 20 years since I started Midwest Values PAC to help Democrats win elections — from progressive organizations to state legislatures to Congress to the White House — who share the values I grew up with in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
