Profiteer-in-Chief

In an August New Yorker article, writer David Kirkpatrick tallied the profits to the Trump family this term so far. The number? $3.4 billion. That’s right. $3.4 BILLION!

This includes the $400 million jet from Qatar, $243 million in profits from various crypto deals with the United Arab Emirates, and tens of millions in Trump Organization real estate deals in Saudi Arabia.

Is it a coincidence that Qatar received a wide range of military equipment, including drones and counter drone systems? Or that the U.S. has approved the sale of tens of thousands of the most advanced AI chips to the U.A.E.? Or that Saudi Crown Prince MBS walked away with sales of F-35s, our most advanced fighter jet?

No other president in our history has sought to profit from his office before. That Trump does it so shamelessly is consistent with the audacious corruption of his entire presidency.

That’s why it’s so important that we win the midterms and take the House and Senate. So Democrats can hold hearings into his profiteering and blatant violations of the emoluments clause which is so clearly stated in the Constitution.

P.S. Our first president, George Washington, even refused a gift of teeth. And that was something he NEEDED, as opposed to a $400 million jet.
