Wow. Did you hear what Trump said about _______________?
You see, I’m not sure when my team is going to send this email out. But I’m sure whenever they do, Trump will have just said something horrifying.
His presidency has been horrifying! And sometimes I need to take a break. By listening to music.
My go-to favorite? The Grateful Dead.
Many of you probably could’ve guessed that. I’m a big Deadhead. Having been a fan since 1973, I’ve seen them live over 50 times! And what’s amazing about the Dead, they never play a song the same way twice. (That’s a compliment).
You know, back in December the Dead were awarded the Kennedy Center Honors. That means they were recognized for their incredible contributions to American culture.
Being the Deadhead that I am, I got to introduce them.
I’m pretty sure that the Kennedy Center’s new Chairman, Donald Trump, doesn’t appreciate the Dead. So I’m glad they got their Honors before it was too late.
Now, not everyone knows the Dead. So I’ve put up a Spotify playlist as an introductory sample of their oeuvre. It opens with an acoustic version of the country tune, “Dark Hollow,” just to give you an idea of their musicianship. Next is a rocker, “Bertha.” There are seventeen songs in total, all live, except their studio version of “Truckin’.”
So, go listen to my playlist. Maybe you’ll become a fan!
