Don’t despair!

Feeling hopeless? Don’t! I know, I know — things can feel like a dumpster fire inside a train wreck. But guess what? Good things are happening. Case in point: Wisconsin, yesterday!

Voters across the state delivered a resounding rejection of Trump and Elon Musk’s ultra conservative candidate Brad Schimel and instead elected progressive Judge Susan Crawford to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Here’s why that’s a BIG deal:

  1. It sends a big middle finger — sorry, I mean message — to Elon Musk that his billions can’t buy him an election. (And, frankly, if he really wanted to help, he could just pay his fair share in taxes instead. Or, I don’t know, leave Social Security alone!?)
  2. The court will serve as a check on Trump, Musk, and MAGA Republicans’ hostile takeover of our country and attempts to hijack our democracy. With a progressive majority, the court will be able to determine the future of reproductive rights, voting rights, and even how electoral maps are drawn in a key swing state. (Basically, all the stuff they’d rather keep under lock and key — because democracy is way less fun when you can’t cheat your way to victory.)

And here’s where you come in. Did your donations single-handedly clinch this victory? Who’s to say!? Okay I’m saying: They sure didn’t hurt. 

When I first reached out about this race, you (or people like you) stepped up in a big way — so much so that MVP was able to give the maximum amount to Judge Crawford’s campaign (via the WI Dems). Then I sent another email, and you (or people like you) responded with another $21,000 in direct support to her campaign. That’s a lot of cheese curds.

That’s real impact. That’s what happens when we rally together. Let’s make sure this is just the beginning. Chip in today to help MVP help more candidates win.

Now, listen: Our democracy isn’t out of the woods. But the tide is turning. And if we keep up this momentum, we’ll keep winning. And wouldn’t that just ruin their day?
