You may have heard (or seen) that Donald Trump is celebrating his 80th birthday this weekend by hosting an Ultimate Fighting Championship match at the White House. (For those of you who don’t know what UFC is, imagine ancient Rome meets TMZ…but in an octagonal cage instead of the colosseum).
In case you haven’t had the pleasure, here’s a photo of what Trump’s done to the People’s House to prepare for the tackiest and most expensive taxpayer-funded birthday of all time. And, it lights up!

If you’d prefer a government that spends its time making life more affordable, protecting democracy, and improving people’s daily lives instead of…a bloody cage match…please donate to Midwest Values PAC today.
But wait, there’s more:
According to the Military Times, “Troops attending White House UFC event must meet physical standards, pay for travel”.
Which raises an obvious question: Has anyone explained those standards to Donald Trump?
Because if the requirement is a waist-to-height ratio of 0.55 or less, it’s safe to say the guest of honor would not get past security.
Anyway, I could go on and on about how ridiculous this party will be, or how Trump’s treatment of our service members continues to show just how little respect he has for the people who actually serve this country. But it’s Friday, and I don’t want to ruin your weekend.
What I will say is this: the best way to fight back against all of this is to support the Democratic candidates that will hold this administration accountable and the progressive organizations doing the hard work of organizing, persuading voters, and getting these folks into office.
That’s why MVP is planning to invest more money this election cycle than ever before into the races and places that will move the needle. But we can’t do it without you.
Al
P.S. Oh, I haven’t even got to the corruption part yet!
MAGA’s top super PAC is set to hold a $1 million-per-person fundraiser the day before the UFC fight AND Trump is reportedly selling UFC-themed commemorative coins for as much as $12,000 to promote the event and cash in on the spectacle.
