In a major loss for Democrats, the Virginia Supreme Court ruled that the congressional map voters approved last month to counter Republican gerrymandering cannot go into effect.

Last month, Virginia voters went to the polls and approved new congressional maps specifically designed to push back against Republican gerrymandering schemes. They did exactly what we’re supposed to do in a democracy — they voted.
And then the Virginia Supreme Court nullified the will of the voters and threw it all out. On a technicality.
As if this isn’t bad enough on its own, Republicans across the South have been eliminating Black-majority districts at breakneck speeds — without even a vote — ever since the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act. They are rigging the maps, systematically and aggressively, and they are not slowing down.
All of this means our fight to win back the House majority just got even harder.
The midterms are our single greatest opportunity to take back power in Washington, stop the Trump agenda, and reverse the damage being done to our democracy. But MVP cannot keep doing this work without your support. We need resources to fight on every front — legal challenges, voter outreach, and candidate support.
If you think I’m above begging, well, I’m not. This situation absolutely calls for it.

P.S. If you’re as angry as I am, I am once again, begging you to donate.
