Tonight, Donald Trump will deliver his State of the Union address.
So before he starts rewriting reality on live television, I’m asking you to do something more productive:
Donate to Midwest Values PAC right now as your act of resistance.
Now, we’ve seen this movie before. It’s long. It’s loud. And it’s mostly fiction.
You can expect the usual: lies, more lies, vitriol, airing of grievances, and attacks — including, quite possibly, against Supreme Court justices he appointed.
Because let’s face it — if he actually told the truth, it might sound something like this:
“I’ve spent my first year back in office cutting your health care while giving massive tax cuts to billionaires, pardoning criminals and fraudsters, wrecking our alliances, sending ICE agents into communities to create chaos, enriching my own family through blatant corruption, and making just about everything more expensive.”
Somehow I doubt that version makes the teleprompter.
This speech also comes after a week of brutal polling for him, more doubling down on the Big Lie about the 2020 election, an unfavorable Supreme Court ruling on tariffs, and escalating tensions that could drag us toward war with Iran.
On the other hand, we here at MVP are working to make things better. Flipping the House, winning back the Senate, and securing victories in critical state and local races to hold this authoritarian president and his sycophantic Republican party accountable — those are the goals. And we can’t do that without your support (or the support of people like you).

P.S. When asked whether the Supreme Court justices who ruled against him were still invited to the State of the Union, Trump said, “Barely. They’re barely invited.” He added: “Honestly, I couldn’t care less if they come.” Translation: He’s furious and unhinged. And that tells you just about everything you need to know.
