April 2nd, 2025, when Trump announced his tariff regime. He promised it would bring jobs and prosperity. It didn’t. It created massive instability for businesses of all sizes and raised prices on pretty much everything you can think of.
But you know who really took it on the chin? Farmers. In a single day, Trump killed export markets they had spent years developing. Markets they may never get back.
Well, now he’s doing something about it by sending $12 billion to our farmers. I like that he’s doing that because they need it. But those are more taxpayer dollars going to heal a self inflicted wound.
Along with the pain to our farmers, we’ve felt the pain as consumers as prices on food and other goods have continued to go up. So, maybe instead of 30 dolls, you’ll only be able to buy two. Remember that?
And just last week Trump called affordability a “democratic hoax.” HUH?!
Bottom line is our economy is hurting. And Trump’s the one hurting it. Giving us the opportunity to take back the House and Senate in the midterms!
Midwest Values PAC supports progressive candidates who will stand up to Trump in the next Congress. While the results of the off-year elections were encouraging, we can’t allow that to lull us into complacency.
