It was a bleak SCOTUS term.

With Trump’s latest attack on birthright citizenship, the Court took away the power of district courts to issue nationwide injunctions. This will cause chaos with jurisdictions abiding by either Trump’s definition of birthright citizenship or the Constitution’s. It will also completely neuter the powers of district courts from here on out.

Parents are now allowed to withdraw their children from class when LGBTQ+-themed books are read in public schools. What does this say about our country’s culture of acceptance? It feels like we’re moving backwards here.

The Court ruled that a Tennessee law prohibiting gender affirming care for minors does not violate the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. The fear is that this decision sets them up to go after gender affirming care for adults next. I wouldn’t put it past them.

This might have just been the worst SCOTUS term yet… well, along with the terms that brought us the Citizens United and Dobbs decisions. And Dred Scott.

Bleak. As I said. But I am not giving up. MVP is dedicated to helping flip the Senate and the House in 2026 so that Congress can assert its Constitutional power to check SCOTUS and POTUS.

Al

P.S. I’m supposed to write a joke here because that’s the precedent I’ve set in my previous emails. But, just like SCOTUS, I can overturn that too.
