Today is the last day of the first quarter of the year! Or, if that makes your head spin, let me put it another way:

Today is the first FEC deadline since the worst person in the world and the richest person in the world teamed up to make this White House the most dangerous place in the world!

So yeah, no pressure or anything. But actually, a little pressure. Because how much we raise will determine how much MVP can give away to support progressive candidates, state parties, and Democratic organizations that do the real, on-the-ground work needed to win. And boy, do we need to win.

Now, I’ll be honest with you — sometimes these fundraising goals are, well… a little arbitrary. But not this one. This one is real!

As of this morning, MVP has received 82,619 contributions to date. My team tells me we’re aiming for 85,000. I did the math (so you don’t have to):

If 2,381 supporters give to this email, we hit our goal.

Or if 1,190 supporters give twice.

Or if 793 supporters give three times (hey, if you really like math, this could be fun!).

Here’s why it matters:

Last cycle, MVP raised more money from more supporters than ever before. Our giving rate was double that of other Democratic organizations and PACs. That’s because MVP makes sure every dollar is spent the smartest way possible — on the campaigns and programs that know how to win.

If you care about winning, today’s the day to step up.

Somehow, it’s been 20 years since I started Midwest Values PAC to help Democrats win elections — from progressive organizations to state legislatures to Congress to the White House — who share the values I grew up with in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

Since 2006, Midwest Values PAC has invested more than $4 million in 341 candidates and organizations — and counting.

Of course, none of this happens without you (or supporters like you) who care enough to pitch in.

As we mark our 20th anniversary, the work is more urgent than ever. This year, we have a big job: flip the House, take the Senate, and win up and down the ballot at the state and local level.

To mark our 20th year, we’ve set an ambitious goal: 26,000 contributions by Election Day 2026.

Thanks for being part of this fight, and for sticking with us for 20 years (or for just joining — welcome!).

P.S. Over the years, okay, decades, we’ve helped Democrats win tough races all across the country by investing early, intelligently, and strategically. That’s how you flip seats. That’s how you protect democracy. And that’s how you stop the worst impulses of a president who never should have been president in the first place.
