Dick Durbin

U.S. Senator, Illinois

For Dick Durbin, the fight for the middle class is personal. He grew up in East St. Louis and worked in stockyards, on railroads, and in slaughterhouses to afford his college education. He’s tireless in his efforts to keep food and children’s toys safe. Dick was integral in the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Board, limiting the fees companies can place on debit cards, and preventing a spike in student loan rates. In short, he’s one of the most effective and vocal progressives in the U.S. Senate.
