Honolulu Civil Beat: Hirono Launches Energy-Ag Plan, Picks Up Another Endorsment

U.S. Rep. Mazie Hirono unveiled her ideas for “a more sustainable future for the state” at a Shell Gas Station in Kalihi Friday.

The four-point energy sustainability plan calls for, among other things, ending the $4 billion per year in subsidies to oil companies.

The four-point agriculture sustainability plan includes calling for encouraging production of more of Hawaii’s food “by helping farmers find a market that covers their costs and returns a reasonable profit.”

Meanwhile, the National Women’s Political Caucus has announced its endorsement of Hirono in her U.S. Senate bid.
