Delaware County Daily Times: Sestak tours, touts small businesses in Pennsylvania

U.S. Rep. Joseph Sestak, D-7, of Edgmont, is on a statewide tour of small businesses this week, prompting a spate of criticism from former U.S. Rep. Pat Toomey, of Zionsville, his Republican opponent in the race for U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter’s seat.

Sestak, who serves as vice chairman of the House Small Business Committee, was in Allegheny Tuesday to discuss proposals like expanding the scope of the Small Business Administration, providing tax credits for “angel investors” of start-up businesses and helping offset the costs of small business capital expenditures.

“With the right tools and incentives to help small businesses enter new industries, including the energy-efficiency industry, we can spur a wave of new jobs for Pennsylvania’s working families and at the same time support our long-term energy demands,” said Sestak during a tour of manufacturer Atas International Inc., according to a release.
