Centre Daily Times: Sestak supports education

Our five children are enrolled in the State College Area School District. We are fortunate that our public schools are above average. Elsewhere, however, education in the U.S. is deteriorating.

Reportedly, millions of Americans believe that the Earth is 6,000 years old. Changing lead into gold and the sun revolving around the Earth are similar ideas that were prevalent during the Dark Ages. Even a basic modern education reveals that these ideas are nonsense.

Joe Sestak has consistently voted for improvements in public education. From supporting Head Start programs for preschoolers to Pell grants for higher education, Sestak has demonstrated a commitment to a better education for our children. His opponent, Pat Toomey, has voted to cut funding for education, student financial aid, school construction and modernization.
