San Francisco Chronicle: Barbara Boxer backs green jobs at Solazyme

With her U.S. Senate race stuck in a dead heat, Democratic incumbent Barbara Boxer tried to appeal to swing voters Tuesday by asserting that she will be a better protector of the environment - and green jobs - than her GOP opponent Carly Fiorina.

Boxer appeared briefly in South San Francisco Tuesday at Solazyme, a 100-employee company that is pioneering a technology that extracts oil from algae. There she stressed her opposition to Proposition 23, a measure on the November ballot that would badly damage AB32, the state's landmark climate-change law.

Delaware Online: Elect Coons to the Senate because of fiscal integrity

The definition of insanity is to keep supporting the same candidate and hope that they will change. Career politicians who never said a word about financial responsibility when the last administration ran up a record debt are now all of a sudden financial conservatives. They tell us that all we have to do is elect them again and everything will be OK.

Leahy was Vermont's junior senator back in the early 1980s when he noticed Sen. Howard Baker taking photos of the historic events that were unfolding in Congress.

Nashua Telegraph: Shea-Porter, Hodes fulfilled their promises

U.S. Reps. Carol Shea-Porter and Paul Hodes share a quality that is all to rare among elected officials: They fulfill their promises.

That is why, in the past two years, we have seen meaningful overhaul of Wall Street regulation, reform of credit card rules, an end to combat operations in Iraq, and the beginnings of a recovery that has brought us back from the brink of financial ruin and put us on a path to prosperity.

Nevada Appeal: Letter to the Editor: We need Harry Reid’s power in Washington

We need Harry Reid's power in Washington

I recently watched a political ad implying that Harry Reid is responsible for the housing market collapse and the high unemployment rate in Nevada. Most intelligent people realize that this is a ridiculous claim. It is obvious that our current economy has been caused by greed in various sectors and the failure of Nevada to diversify its economy.

Sheboygan Press: Letters: Feingold an excellent example of government of, by and for the people

Sen. Russ Feingold took a courageous stand on "Wireless Wiretapping" and stood up to a president who acted like the Bill of Rights and the Constitution were repealed by 9/11.

No wonder he received a John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award.
